About Me.

Hi, I’m Sara Totonchi, Founding Partner of Lunoor Consulting. For more than 20 years, I’ve been in the trenches and at the helm of nonprofits, helping leaders navigate both the exhilarating and the challenging moments that come with guiding organizations dedicated to justice and equity.

I know firsthand that leadership can be both deeply rewarding and deeply demanding. That’s why my work—whether I’m coaching an individual, consulting with an organization, or facilitating a group—always starts with creating space. Space to pause. Space to reflect. Space to dream about what’s possible.

As a group dialogue facilitator, I help teams explore their hopes, dreams, and worries openly and honestly. These conversations aren’t just about listening—they’re about emerging with clear, sustainable action plans that everyone feels invested in. I believe that when people are given room to be heard and truly engage with each other, solutions emerge that are both practical and powerful.

Before co-launching Lunoor Consulting, I spent over two decades at the Southern Center for Human Rights (SCHR), including eleven years as Executive Director. During my tenure, we grew into a multi-faceted social justice powerhouse with a strong endowment, an inclusive and healthy workplace culture, and an impact that reached far beyond our Atlanta base.

Today, alongside my consulting practice, I serve as Coordinator of the Justice Fund of Georgia, connecting local and national philanthropic partners to fuel transformative youth and adult justice reform. I’m also faculty for Nonprofit University at the Georgia Center for Nonprofits, where I teach leadership and management excellence to nonprofit leaders across the country.

My work extends into board service as well: I’m Chair of the Board for the Promise of Justice Initiative (Louisiana), President of the Advisory Board of Motherhood Beyond Bars (Georgia), an Advisory Board Member of New Disabled South, and a Founding Board Member of the Parkside Foundation, which invests in educational equity right here at my neighborhood public school.

Over the years, my leadership has been recognized nationally, but what matters most to me is seeing the leaders and organizations I work with feel more confident, more connected to their purpose, and more equipped to make lasting change. I believe that with clarity, compassion, and the right strategy, every leader can rise to meet their moment—and thrive in it.
